♕ –⊱ Her experience with children remained limited. As a child she never met any other children. As an “adult” she attended school with high school students. Could those young adults be counted as children though? She didn’t know, when her nieces came into the world they were only babies. She supposed Lulu counted as a child. What Saya did know was that she cared about Sen. Sen reminded her why she gathered up cold steel and acted.
She didn’t know what brought Sen so far away from the work place. Saya drifted between worlds but she searched for one in particular. The human spirit world. Try all she might she couldn’t find it, perhaps she was never meant to locate it. As she kept her legs tucked beneath her Sen slept in a ball. Saya reached down to the plain elastic around her hair and gently released the ponytail from its hold. As the band wrapped tightly around her wrist she tucked her hair behind her ear and gathered the child in her arms. Sen slept on as she kept her in her arms. Sen’s cheek pressed against the vampire’s shoulder.
Saya couldn’t help but press her lips along the bridge of the child’s nose, “It’s okay to sleep, Sen," she bent at the knees and gathered up her sneakers and continued to hold the girl. "I got you."
